NOTD: Zoya Flynn

Well, I don't know about you but this time of year is getting busy for me! I thought that I'd show the polish I'm wearing for the day, Zoya Flynn, from the 2013 Fall Cashmere Collection. Kind of the color of caramel apples, or hot buttered rolls, or several of the yummy Thanksgiving treats that my fingers will be buried in soon…

Hope you all have a delicious Thanksgiving. Safe travels!

China Glaze Queen B

It seems that every company has come out with a blue, a burgundy, and a tan polish this fall and I think I may have gotten them all, or at least close enough! You know there will be some comparisons coming up but they may have to wait until after the holidays unless I get really bored! In any case, here is one of my favorites of the blues — China Glaze Queen B from their Fall 2013 Autumn Nights collection. I also got Charmed, I'm Sure, which Erin has already reviewed along with two others. Great collection!
Queen B, two coats plus topcoat
Queen B is a deep denim blue that, compared to some of the other fall blues like Seche Vite Wonderfully Witty, seems a bit dustier but seen alone has considerable depth to the color. I love these syrupy kinds of colors! Application was great, leveling out well with two coats. I wore this for at least three days, which is a long time for me!

NOTD: SinfulColors Jungle Trail

Last year I showed you SinfulColors Jungle Trail underneath Sation Men-ipulation but I think it deserves a post of its own. Such a beautiful warm medium shade of gray! Definitely one of my go-to neutrals. I know a lot of people like to bring on the holiday bling this time of year but sometimes my eyes just need a break from all the lights and colors. Besides, then it really makes a special mani for a party or gathering that much more special, right?

Sally Hansen Triple Shine

**These polishes were provided for an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.**

Sally Hansen has come out with a new line of polishes called Triple Shine, which includes Iridescence (pearlescent), Pop (creme), and Fanta-Sea (glitter) finishes, as well as a Triple Shine clear top coat. I have for you Vanity Flare, a gorgeous purple creme, and Drama Sheen, a lavender pearlescent topper.
Vanity Flare, two coats, no top coat
Vanity Flare is an awesome shade of purple — I love this color so much! It dries slightly darker than bottle color but I still love it.

One coat of Drama Sheen over Vanity Flare
I'm not entirely sure that Drama Sheen is intended to be a topper but it is very, very sheer. I planned to show it on its own but even with five coats there was obvious visible nail line so I decided to just show one coat over Vanity Flare. It lightens the color noticeably and adds that pearlescent finish so it would be a great way to extend your mani if you so choose.

Keeping with their scheme of different bottle shapes for each line, Triple Shine has a new taller, thinner bottle, holding .33 oz instead of the typical .5 oz of their Complete Salon Manicure line. It has the same wide brush, however, and the same narrow bottle neck, so you need to hold the bottle as you use it to keep it stable; awkward, but not impossible.

So far I've seen this collection at Target, Walgreens, and CVS, selling for under $5 and they should be available now anywhere Sally Hansen is carried. Not every place has had the entire line but you can preview the collections at their website.

NOTD: SinfulColors Out Of Bounds

Earlier this year SinfulColors released four colors exclusive to Target but I never saw them at my local store and soon forgot about them. Then toward the end of the summer I was at the Target closer to where I work and I saw some polishes in a marked-down basket. Score! At that time I was totally into bright pinks and Out Of Bounds really caught my eye.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Greige™ Gardens

First of all, I have to say that I think it's hilarious that Sally Hansen put a trademark notice after the word greige in the name of this polish, as if they invented the word to describe a gray beige. Really, Sally? Second, I have to apologize for taking so long to get this polish reviewed — if I had done it in a timely fashion this could have been a Discount Discovery because I got it when Walgreens marked down the entire Complete Salon Manicure line to $1.89 (last fall?) and you could have all taken advantage of the sale price. Greige™ Gardens is still part of their core line but the price is back up to $8–$9, depending on where you find it. Sorry!
Greige™ Gardens, two coats plus topcoat
This is another of the many, many mushroom-taupe-gray-beiges that I love so much. The application was great and it wore well for several days. I tend to use these colors when I know I won't be able to change my polish for a few days and I'll need something neutral so if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, this is definitely a polish to consider!

Embella Adorn Autumn Time Fine Vol. 1

**These polishes were provided for an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.**

Today I'm excited to present a line of polishes that is new to us, Embella Adornembellish your nails with polish and adorn your fingers with a ring! Each polish includes a ring of your choice and they come in a darling gauze drawstring bag. How can you resist?

Look at the bling!

I'll start off with  my favorite, Spiced Cider, a gorgeous bronze metallic. Even without using a ridge-filling base coat there was no problem with streaking and with careful application it could even be a one-coater, but I used two here to fill in some bare spots. It dries to a satin finish so you can leave it as is if you like or add a topcoat for the shine, as I did here. I paired it with the single band gold ring with a black center accented by pink petals because I thought it set off the topaz quality of the color.

Next up is Purple Horizon, thick with turquoise, purple, and magenta shimmers suspended in a blackened teal base (think of a bluer OPI Ski Teal We Drop kind of teal rather than a greener butter London Slapper kind of teal) that adds such dimension that it almost appears to be a duochrome. It dries slightly textured and with a satin finish but I chose to put on a topcoat because I felt the shine really amplified the shimmers. So stunning! It's such a dramatic color that I felt the best ring to go with it was the ornate rose gold oval ring. You can see how short my fingers are here so you'll understand why I decided to show the rings on the bottles rather than my fingers!

Check out this ring! It's as big as my finger!

Greening of You is a sheer turquoise shimmer that looks like something mermaid scales would be made of. It had the best application of the collection but was sheer enough that even three coats had some slight visible nail line. It didn't dry as satiny as the others but I still used a topcoat for the shine. I chose the turquoise and coral accented gold ring to go with this one.

As a bonus I'm also showing Ball So Hard! from the Football Time Fine collection. If you can get only one Embella Adorn polish, get this one! It is such a gorgeous shade of purple, with what appear to be the finest magenta and cyan shimmers in it to give it an amazing glowy quality! The set comes with the perfect glitter to use as an accent (or on every nail if you choose) that is a combination of tiny gold, black, dark purple, and holo purple glitters which offset the polish so well. I put on two coats of the glitter but I think it actually looked better with one coat — I tried to distribute the glitters less randomly and I think I may have overdone it. This set comes with a giant gold feather ring that is almost as big as my hand!

All of the polishes come in a gauze drawstring bag.

The Autumn Time Fine collection is available at their web site and sell for USD$12 each but you can get the entire collection for $30; Balls So Hard! sells for $20 for the two polishes plus ring; each bottle contains 8 ml of polish. In honor of their launch, Embella Adorn is offering our readers a 10% discount when you use the code EALAUNCH at check out.

Super Black Lacquers - Spanked & Guilty

***Polish provided for an honest review.  All opinions are my own.***

Hi!  I have 2 gorgeous holo polishes from one of my new favorite brands, Super Black Lacquers.  The formula on these is comparable to A-England, basically like painting your nails with expensive butter.  Creamy perfection in 2 coats.

Spanked is described as:  Spanked is a wine-colored linear holographic polish.  Shimmering cranberry red in low light, with a prismatic holo effect in sunlight or full-spectrum indoor light.  Opaque in 2-3 coats with a semi-matte finish.  Skip the top coat with our holographic polishes to get the most prismatic effect...don't worry, the polish is long lasting and chip resistant without it!  I wore this for days and loved it.  These pictures were taken in my lightbox and the holo still shows up.  Dazzling!

Guilty is described as:  Our gold holographic polish. In the shade, it is a subtle metallic gold, but when you're in the sun or full-spectrum indoor lighting, the polish explodes in a gold holographic rainbow.  Opaque in 2-3 coats, with a semi-matte finish.  We recommend that you skip the top coat with our holographic polishes to maximize the effect!  This gold doesn't play nice with my skin tone but it's still a cool color.

What do you think about these?  My biggest pet peeve about holo polishes is that sometimes they are so holo, you can't see the actual color of the polish.  Not so with these.  They are super holo and still hold a true color.  I got 4 days of wear out of Spanked with no chipping, impressive!

Super Black retails for $12 and can be purchased here.  Make sure you keep up with them on Facebook for news and specials!

Zoya Zenith Collection

***This polish was provided for review.  All opinions are my own.***

Hi!  Long time, no blog.  I apologize for the absence.  I'm one million weeks pregnant and painting my nails hasn't been on the top of my list but got some motivation this week and have some amazing polishes for you.  I love a red and green and gold holiday collection as much as the next girl but Zoya Zenith is my kind of collection!  Gorgeous cool colors that scream winter without red and green glitter.

Belinda is described as:   a full-coverage, cosmic purple metallic. I don't love purple polish but I LOVE this.  I didn't color correct so it leans blue in my pictures but it is purple.

Dream is described as:  a full-coverage, deep space blue with holographic glitter.  So gorgeous and sparkly!

Cassedy is described as:   a full-coverage, celestial pewter metallic.  What a cool color.  It leans a little green but that makes it even cooler.

Payton is described as:   a full-coverage, galactic cranberry with holographic glitter.  A classic Erin color with holo glitter.  Love.

Seraphina is described as:   a full-coverage, Polaris silver metallic.  So delicate and pretty and I can myself wearing this at Christmas.  Hopefully I will be in the hospital giving birth with this on! ;)

Mosheen is described as:   an astro ice blue topper, great for layering over other hues.  I love the color of this and as much of a bar glitter hater that I can be, I like these little microslices.  I layered one coat over Seraphina.

What do you think?  Do you own any of this collection?  Payton and Belinda are my favorites.

Zoya sells for USD$8 and is available at Zoya.com and Ulta stores, nationwide.
