I love holos and now that the sun is shining again it makes it a lot easier to photograph and admire them, so perfect timing for China Glaze to release a new collection of holographic polishes. These are from the new Hologlam collection and I'm really enjoying them!

First up is Take A Trek, a medium gray-blue with a rainbow of holos. I really loved this one!

A close-up to show off the amazing holos!
Next is Not In This Galaxy, a coral where the holos are not as pronounced as with the darker shades, probably because of the limited color range. Still nice, though.

Pros: application was easy, using no base or top coat, and dry time was quick. I did, however, use a nail buffer to smooth my nail surface first. I think any nail buffer will do. Two coats here.

Cons: the holo effect on Not In This Galaxy was disappointing, so limited in effect to the point that indoors it comes across as more of a foil polish than a holo. If you like corals, though, you'll love this one.

Overall: the holos here are more pronounced than in the disappointing Tronica collection, but not as much as the OMG collection, IMHO. I found the effect to be much more effective in the darker shades. I can't wait to try some of the other colors!

China Glaze polishes can be found at Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply.
