Glitter Gal Blue Suede Shoes

I haven't done a Blue Monday post in a while, so here's a nice holo to welcome it back. Blue Suede Shoes is a holographic blue polish that you can wear alone or over another color. I really wanted to boost the holo so I used three coats on its own. As you can see, there's still a bit of visible nail line but it shows up more in the photos than it did in person.

As far as holos go, this wasn't one of the strongest effects I've seen but there hasn't been sunshine around here for weeks (weeks!) so I wasn't able to give it my usual "run around the front yard chasing sunbeams and scandalizing the neighbors" treatment. It would have been a challenge in hip-deep snow, anyway. So, I'm limited to showing it off as revealed by a color-correcting Ott light.

Pros: fabulous application, super-easy clean up. The teal blue is different from my other blue holos.

Cons: a weak holographic effect, but it might be better in direct sunlight.

Overall: a nice, but not overwhelming entry into holographic polishes, although it seems that very few of the new ones come close to the golden days of OMG! holos when they first came out.

Glitter Gal polishes can be found at Llarowe, Harlow & Co., and their own website. Prices start at USD$11.00.
