On this wet, wintery day it's a joy to review some of the gorgeous new pastel polishes from the Zoya Lovely — Spring 2013 collection (available in January) which consists of three cremes and three glass flecks. Anna, Erin and I are splitting the collection up, each reviewing a creme and a glass fleck. I got first pick so I chose the lilac and the green. (Are you surprised?)
First up is
Julie, a shimmering lilac that was a custom runway shade originally created for fashion designer Zang Toi. It reminds me of
crocus petals! The formula seemed thin at first and I was afraid that I'd have a lot of visible nail line, but it was completely opaque in two coats. It did seem to eat up top coat, however, and even with two coats the glass flecks still presented a bit of texture. But those glass flecks are what make it so magical, so I can't complain!

| Doesn't this look just like a crocus petal? |
Next up is
Neely, a minty pastel green that was a custom runway shade created for fashion designer Peter Som. When I first saw the bottle I immediately thought of
Bevin and planned to do a comparison, but it wasn't even close (so you definitely need them both!) The formula was also a bit thin with one coat, but opaque in two. I used no top coat for these photos.

ReplyDeleteGood idea! Wait until you see the rest of the collection!
Deletei'm totally in love with neely! <3
ReplyDeleteSo am I! It's different from the minty greens we've seen in the past — slightly grayer, so that gives it a new edge.
DeleteDo you have Orly jealous much? Neely seems similar in my head but not for sure. Hate to get neely just to realize its a dupe for my Orly.
