SinfulColors Winter Wonder DUPE ALERT!

I went into the Rite Aid near where my sister-in-law lives and they have a fabulous assortment of nail polishes! I think that perhaps because it's in a tiny strip mall inconveniently located just before a traffic light (it took ages for a break in traffic when I wanted to get out!) it may not get picked over as quickly as some of the others. Anyway, they had a fully stocked pristine display of the new SinfulColors Holiday Shimmers collection, so I had to check them over. I was tempted by Dazzle and Nova, but ultimately decided on Winter Wonder because I was curious to see if it was a dupe for Zoya FeiFei, which Anna reviewed back in July.

SinfulColors FeiFei...  I mean Winter Wonder!
OK, I won't keep you in suspense. It's a total dupe for FeiFei. In fact, the photo above has both polishes, but I won't tell you which is which until later. I waved my hand in front of my husband and asked him if he could tell the difference and he got out his jeweler's loupe even and couldn't see the slightest difference. And the reason there is so much glitter around my nails is because I got distracted after applying my first coat and when I went to apply the second coat I couldn't remember which nail had what polish so I had to start over again.

Probably a LE, so get it while you can!
That being said, let's go over the pros and cons of each polish, shall we?

Color: Identical in every way

Price: SinfulColors sell for $1.99 and frequently go on sale for 99¢; Zoyas are $8 on their website and at Ulta, although if you are an Ulta Rewards member you will often get coupons. But still, even with a coupon the Zoyas are more expensive. Advantage — Winter Wonder.

Availability: SinfulColors are sold at Walgreens, Rite Aid, Target, Walmart, Duane Reade, and a variety of other drug and discount stores, although I've never seen any but the core line at Target or Walmart. Zoyas are sold on their website and some salons. Advantage — Winter Wonder.

Formula and application: Even though the finished nails looked identical, the formula for Winter Wonder was thicker and gloppier than FeiFei and the Zoya brush was much easier to handle. FeiFei also seemed to smooth out better than Winter Wonder, but it needed three coats to match two coats of Winter Wonder. I don't know how to gauge for you if needing an extra coat makes a tie-breaker difference, but for the aggravation factor alone I give Zoya the nod. Advantage — FeiFei.

So! Which nail has what polish?
Pointer & ring fingers — FeiFei, middle & pinkie — Winter Wonder.
While FeiFei is still available at Zoya's website, it hasn't been available in stores for a while now so if you're not comfortable with buying online you can head out to whichever drug store near you that carries sinfulColors and scoop up Winter Wonder. I'm pretty sure it's a Limited Edition, so hurry! I believe that Walgreens is having a 99¢ sale on Sunday, so see if they've got it there!
