Fancy Friday: OPI DS Indulgence

Wow. I can't even find words to describe this color. It's like molten gold, heated red hot. It's a four-alarm fire. It's so attention-getting that I'm not sure I can wear it to work tomorrow! It's also a perfect example of why I don't like to choose polish colors based on photos I see online. Most of the photos I saw made it look like a cool berry color, similar to Zoya Blaze, but it's not at all! It's a deep crimson just packed with gold micro glitters that it give it a warm glow. It's very like a Christmas ornament, so it would be a perfect polish for Christmas Eve.

It's a shame that the DS line is no longer holographic, but it does still have diamond dust that adds this amazing shimmer. As with all polishes that use these micro glitters, it gets all over your fingers. I recommend using a separate brush when you do your cleanup because the glitters will be in it forever and will transfer onto non-glitter polishes easily. I'd even go so far as to recommend using a separate bottle of top coat for the same reason, or at least cleaning the brush off on some tissue paper before you use it again. Also, that golden glow? Expect to see that on your nails after you take it off because like so many of these jewel-like colors, this beauty stains like whoa! Annoying, yes, but these polishes are so worth it for the dramatic effect they provide. Glamour ain't easy.

All of the polish companies have been out-doing themselves with their holiday collections this year. I think we're all going to have to either up our game on how we dress for holiday events or completely tone things down so that our manicures can grab center stage. It will be hard to compete with this!
