Sprog is one of the butter LONDON colors exclusive to Ulta (the other being Tee Total, a medium cool brown similar to SinfulColors Nirvana) and, since — amazingly — I don't have a lot of periwinkle blues I picked this one up when I got one of Ulta's 20% off coupons for being such a good customer. (wink, wink) Their web site says that "sprog" is an affectionate term for a child or baby and this is a perfect baby blue.
butter LONDON Sprog
This polish was everything that Revlon Dreamy wasn't — it was a dream to apply and boy, did it last! I mean, it went through hell and still looked great after a few days. I put it on just before Hurricane Sandy was due to come through our area, so I was putting down storm windows, cleaning up the yard, etc. and this polish still looked as if I'd just attended tea with the Queen. At first I was disappointed that it didn't look different enough from some of my other pale blues, but after that performance it goes to the front of the line (although the other butter LONDONs I have are also great performers, so I don't know why I was surprised.)
Such a funny name, isn't it?
I don't know if it's due to the pigments they use, but even though this is a creme polish with no glass flecks or shimmers there is a depth to the color that really shows off its quality, sort of like how you can see a difference between real silk and a cheap synthetic, even if they're the same color. We're big fans of the line here at Polished Cousins and I always look forward to getting coupons or the BOGO sales. Toff is the next color on my list!
