Sation - BYOBottle & 3 Free-Dom

Hi everyone!  Today I have a couple Sation polishes from the Nailstock Collection and let me tell you...I am in love.  I really love the Sation formula, it's thick in the best possible way, super easy to control with barely any cleanup, dries to a high shine and wears incredibly well.  These swatches show one coat of China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat, 2 coats of polish and one coat of Out The Door Top Coat.

First up, I have BYOBottle (cutest name ever).  Sation describes it as:  A sweet raisin plum.  I would describe it as one of those purple brown gray taupey shades that we all know and love as our new neutral for fall.  It's such a great color.  Flattering on so many skin tones and with the Sation formula, it's a win in my book.

Next, I have a color that went straight to my Top Ten Polishes of All Time list after I applied it, 3 Free-Dom.  I literally gasped when I finished the second coat.  It's just perfect.  I'm having a major love affair with nude polishes lately and this polish may just topped it all off for me.  Sation descibes it as: A creamy putty-taupe.  I completely agree.  Ugh, I love this polish so much.  I can see myself reaching for it any time that I need clean looking hands.  Which I really did after my weekend half marathon mani.  Check our Facebook page for an Instagram shot.

I also wanted to include a full hand shot that I took with my iPhone last night to send to Anna and Robin so they could see how fabulous this polish looks on.  I have a thumb, I swear.

Pros:  Sation's formula is spot on and great to work with.  I love their creative names and cohesive collections. The $5 price tag is also a huge plus!
Cons:  My only con is that they are not sold in stores yet so they are not so readily available.  But I hear they are coming to select TJ Maxx's soon!
Overall:  These are two great wearable shades that I'm thrilled to have in my collection

Sation retails for $5 for a 15ml bottle is available online here.  Check their Facebook page for updates.

  1. Oh, I LOVE BYOBOTTLE. I wonder how it compares to Sephora by OPI Metro Chic and all of those similar shades... do you have any to do a comparison?

  2. Thanks! I'll through my stash tonight and see what I have that compares. I don't have Metro Chic but I'll look. It may compare to Essie Smokin' Hot but I lent it to a friend. I'll let you know!

    1. What about Rimmel Steel Grey or Sally Hansen Commander in Chic?

    2. Robin has Metro Chic and Steel Gray. She'll get a comp post going.

    3. I'll shoot some pics and write up a comparison later, but the closest polish I've found in my collection (based on Erin's pics because I'm back in Boston) is Parlez-Vous OPI? Metro Chic has a similar purple undertone but is WAY more of a taupe. OPI You Don't Know Jacque and SinfulColors Nirvana are nearly identical to each other and both are slightly darker than Metro Chic and without the purple tinge. Rimmel Steel Grey is much lighter than the rest but still has the purple undertones. Essie Smokin Hot isn't even close to any of them, being much, much darker and a warmish gray with no purple cast at all — I would compare that one to Zoya Kelly, if any.
