Now that it's officially autumn in New England, the leaves are changing color so fast it's like watching a cartoon where the reds, yellows, and oranges appear with little *POP*POP*POP* sound effects. It definitely made me want to paint my nails an autumn color, that's for sure, and Chop-Sticking To My Story fit the bill.
OPI Chop-Sticking To My Story
If you had told me this time last year, or even earlier this year, that I'd be wearing orange nail polish I would have said, "yeah, sure" but now it's become one of my favorite colors, in part because I finally found the range of oranges that actually look good on me. I think that starting off with Zoya Arizona put me off the color for a while because it was so startlingly bright, but when I began looking for oranges that looked the way my photos of Arizona looked, I found several with just the right touch of red to make them look great. Chop-Sticking To My Story falls somewhere between the oranges in my review of Tangerine Tango and China Glaze Desert Sun — it's an orange that's got a hot buttered pumpkin pie quality to it that says oh, so fall! I loved this color so much I wore it for three days, which is pretty much a record for me.
I found this on the clearance shelf at Ulta, obviously.
I'm starting to think I should do an autumn ombré, with each nail making the change from green to yellow-orange-red. I'm sure I could find enough colors, but do I have enough fingers!?!
