Serum No. 5 - Girls Gotta Eat & Spring Into Love

Hello!  Today I have two awesome new indies for you.  As an entry in our 700 Facebook Likes Giveaway (go enter!), we asked our readers to let us know what they would like to see more of on our blog and indie polishes has been the top contender.  So ask and you shall receive!

First up, I have Serum No. 5 Girls Gotta Eat. This polish is described as: No need to dig for gold when you've got Girl's Gotta Eat, a polish filled with gold prism and platinum glitter with micro gold shimmer in a clear base.  I couldn't agree more.  This polish BLINGIN' baby!  I love it.  Just to take it to the next level of in your face nails, I layered it over the super neon China Glaze Surfin for Boys.  I'm a fan of gold and silver mixed together.  It's such a classy combo.  I just love how awesome and sparkly this polish is.  This is one coat of Girls Gotta Eat over 2 coats of Surfin for Boys and one coat of Out The Door.  The glitter spread evenly and I had zero formula issues!

Love the logo and labels

Next I have Spring Into Love, described as:  Spring into Love with this pink glitter polish with opalescent flakies, micro shimmer, gold glitter, and fine purple glitter. Note: This is a textured polish, similar to Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream.  This polish applied like a dream, two coats that dried surprisingly fast for a textured polish and I love the color.  It's super flattering and the texture gives that extra something special.  I added top coat to see if it needed it but it retained that textured look.  I don't own Mermaid's Dream but I looked up some swatches and this really looks like the pink version.  If you love it, you should own Spring Into Love.  It would be awesome to see a combo of the two in one mani!

Love the purple glitter
Pros:  Great color combos, awesome logo, really nice bottles and labels
Cons:  Personally, I'm not a fan of textured polish but I know lots of people are!
Overall:  I think Serum No. 5 is a brand to check out!
Serum No. 5 polishes are sold on Etsy and retail for $12 for a full size, $5 for a mini.  The store is all stocked so head over there!  Check out their Tumblr for updates.

***This polish was sent to me for an honest review.  All opinions are mine.***

  1. Ok, I love those! Especially Spring Into Love. And yes, I want to pair it with Mermaid's Dream!! I keep scrolling back up to look at Girl's Gotta Eat... Everyone seems to have a gold glitter, but there's something special about that one that I can't put my finger on. Beautiful swatches!
