Fancy Friday - Rescue Beauty Lounge Santa Fe

Happy Fancy Friday!  Today I have one of my biggest stalkees, Rescue Beauty Lounge Santa Fe.  Let me just say at the beginning of this post, RBL polish is expensive, $20 a bottle, only available online and shipping $7.  It's no joke.  I tried to make myself stop wanting this polish (and the other one I bought - saved for another Fancy Friday post!) but I just couldn't.  After months of stalking, I caved.  I sold a bottle of Lynnderella (and no, not on Ebay - check out our blog sale for more awesome finds) so it offset some of the cost.  And the rest was paypal money...is that even real money?  No!  It's like Monopoly money.  So basically, this polish was free.

RBL describes this color as:  This color would be an aerial view of my imaginary Santa Fe—the baked earth tones of ocher with the shimmery, glisteningly ubiquitous dotted greens. Ok, let's talk formula.  Amazing.  2 coats, applied like butter.  Literally, like spreading expensive french butter on my nails.

There was some legal trouble with the naming of this collection.  I don't feel like even attempting to recap it.  You can read about it here.

On to the pictures!

Look at this polish!  It's so dreamy, I can't take it.

What do you think?  Do you own any Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes?

  1. This is beautiful! This whole collection is gorgeous, but I didn't think twice about this color until your swatches. It looks completely different in the bottle than it does on your nails. The green shimmer was definitely more prominant in the bottle. Or was it just the lighting? Either way, still gorgeous!

    1. The green shimmer is definitely more prominent in the bottle than the nail. There is shimmer on the nail but it looks more like a silvery gold. It's beautiful!

    2. It really is beautiful. And there really isn't a better name for it other than Santa Fe.

  2. I was thinking it might be close to my China Glaze Desert Sun, but this one has shimmers!

  3. Santa Fe looks great on you. RBL is a splurge, and I have only ordered a select few. The blog swatches really help me decide. So far I have Aqua Lily(SO unique!)Moxie, Halcyon and Poco a Poco. No disappointments so far. I am stalking other colors and hoping they won't run out before the BIB event in November. Looking forward to your next Rescue Beauty Lounge post. I love your Fancy Fridays!

    1. Moxie is gorgeous! Great choice! How many coats does it take to make it opaque? I also need to know what the BIB event is and whether or not I need to take a second mortgage for it!

    2. 4 thin coats or 3 thick but it looks nice at 2. Still, can be a bit brush-strokey- requires steady hand skills. BIB in November-I want Piu mosso and Insouciant badly! and hoping Bruised and the queens will hold out. If you need a moxie-like fix before then, Loreal Satin Sheets #230 is similar(not a dupe! it's more white). Moxie is more golden, complex, and luminous with a smoother application. If you get moxie, please swatch it- there are so few swatches and it is a seriously underestimated polish!
