In my quest to find an orange polish that looked in person the way
Zoya Arizona looked in my photographs, I found a few potentials. Today I bring you China Glaze
Life Preserver! Remember how I said that
Arizona actually looked like a crossing guard's safety vest because it was so bright? I found it amusing that a color named after a similar vest would be closer to what I was seeking.

While still a fairly bright orange color,
Life Preserver tends to lean a bit toward coral so it's not quite as screaming an orange as
Arizona is. In fact, I found myself getting a little bored with it after a day so I decided to try
once again to do a gradient — this time putting China Glaze
Papaya Punch at the tips.
Papaya Punch was one of the other oranges I got but found to be too bright for me to wear on its own. However, I thought that it might be just the color to spice things up! My gradient technique still needs a lot of work, but I'm getting better at it. I was quite pleased with myself when a woman at work saw it and commented, "
That's an expensive manicure!"

Stay tuned over the course of the summer to see swatches of the other oranges I've found!
Oh what an amazing gradient!!! So lovely! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it!
DeleteLove this! I'm on an orange kick lately :)
ReplyDeleteSo am I! I've found several that I like in the bottle, just not quite so much on my nails.
DeleteHave you tried Orly "Crush On You"? It looks very similar to my bottle of "Arizona". Anyway, I love your gradient! I have darker skin, and it's hard to find an orange that goes with it, even though I LOVE orange! I even have a bottle of Life Preserver, but have yet to try it. I'll keep an eye out for your other orange adventures!
ReplyDeleteI will have to look for that one. Another possible that I will review later on is Ulta Profrssional Roaring To Go. Kind of a tangerine color.
