Sinful Thimbleberry and OPI Pirouette My Whistle

Last weekend was my birthday and Mother's Day so I wanted a bright festive mani to celebrate.  I was really happy with the way this came out!

I picked up Sinful Thimbeberry at the last Walgreen's 99 cent sale and I loved it in the bottle.  I had some formula issues with it, sadly.  When I'm using an Essie and I paint on the first coat and it looks terrible and uneven, I have faith that it will smooth out with the second.  When I'm using a Sinful and the first coat looks terrible and uneven, it does not smooth out in the second coat.  It was also super thick so I didn't want to add a third coat.  My original plan for this mani was just a few accent nails of OPI Pirouette My Whistle but to cover up the shoddy Thimbleberry I threw one coat of PMW on every nail.  I am happy with the end result though!

One note about Pirouette My Whistle...I feel like the glitter sunk into Thimbleberry. It almost looked like it was buried in the paint. Has anyone else had this happen? This is the first time I've used so I'm curious to know if it's the glitter or the Sinful.

    1. Me too! I have Nubar White Polka Dot too and I thought I didn't need PMW until I saw it in person. It's gorgeous and they have different shimmer. Maybe a comparison post?!

  2. It doesn't show that you had application issues, that's for sure. It looks good! :)

  4. Love the color combo! Thimbleberry is pretty even if the formula wasn't great. I've found that Sinful's can be hit or miss with the formula.

  5. Love this layering! I can see what you mean about the glitter sinking into Thimbleberry. That's weird!
