The New Black - Runway Collection Part 1

The New Black has been all over the nail world lately with their awesome ombre sets.  We received the Runway set and wanted to do something a little different so we have some stamping and some swatches.  And as the Polished Cousins like to do, we split up the set so you could see it on different nails.  I'll do Part One and Anna will take Part Two.

The Runway Collection has 8 polishes in a range of colors.  The polishes are not marked with a name but Sephora gives a list here.  Gypsy Rose, Just Shocking and Orange Crush are all sort of alike so I'm going to guess a little...This post is pic heavy so get ready!

Just Shocking

I'm going to call this one Just Shocking.  This is 2 easy coats, smooth and perfect.  It's an awesome coral with gold shimmer running through it.  I stamped it with Color Club Gingerbread Man, my favorite gold stamping polish that actually smells like gingerbread!  I wore this mani for 3 days with no chipping or tip wear.  And I loved it!

Orange Crush?

I'm going to call this one Orange Crush because it was the most orange of the 2 orange polishes.  This polish also had some gold and orange shimmer running through it but it wasn't as evident on the nail as Just Shocking's shimmer.  The New Black's formula is really nice and I had no pooling and this needed no clean up.

Mint Tea Shimmer and Midnight Blue

I really wanted to stamp with the pretty green foil and I'm loving preppy colors together, so what better combo than navy and green?  The New Black calls this green Mint Tea Shimmer.  I wouldn't describe it as mint...at all.  It's more of a Grass Green Shimmer.  Midnight Blue is a great description of this navy though.  And it's a one coater!  I did have some clean up to do because my brush was a little wonky but it was worth it.  I love the fan stamp over the blue.

Overall,  I loved this set.  Each polish was a dream to apply and never more than 2 coats which is a huge plus for me.  I hate 3 coats of polish plus base and top coat.  It's way too much.  While most of the colors are current, they are not the most inspired.  But I think it's a good addition to their overall collections of ombre sets and would be great for someone starting to build their polish stash.

The Runway Collection retails for $32 and is available at Nordstrom and Sephora
