Nubar White Polka Dot and Ulta Smoke Screen

I've been stalking Nubar White Polka Dot for a while so I finally caved and ordered it a few weeks ago.  I was secretly hoping that it would sort of kind of maybeeeeeee resemble in the slightest Lynnderella Snow Angel.  It didn't.  But that's okay.  One day I will get my Lynnderellas.  ONE DAY!  On to my review...

I started with two coats of Ulta Smoke Screen.  I bought 3 polishes at Ulta when they were having buy 2 get one free.  I don't like the bottle, brush or brush length of the Ulta polishes.  This is the second time I've used the polish so I knew the first coat looks horrendous.  It's thick and goes on streaky and just wrong.  But when I add the second coat (after I let the first coat dry for a full 10 minutes) the polish magically becomes very, very nice.  But the brush is so short and the cap is big and round that I almost feel like I can't see the brush over the giant cap.  Unless I see a color that is to die for I won't buy any more.  I really do like the color of Smoke Screen.  It's a deep grayish purple creme. A prettier version of Essie Merino Cool.  Opaque in two coats and dries to a nice high shine.

Now the Nubar White Polka Dot.  I wanted WHITE WHITE WHITE polka dots.  I saw this polish on lots of blogs and really liked it and I really though it was bright white glitter.  In person, it's not.  It's more of a pale silver round glitter and silver micro glitter in a clear base.  The formula is fabulous and not to thick or thin.  The brush is long paints evenly.  I used one coat of White Polka Dot.  I wanted the look of the sparse white glitter and I got it.  Each nail has 3-7 big glitters on it and a thin coat of micro glitter.  I wasn't wowed last night after I finished the manicure.  But today when I walked outside and saw it in direct sunlight I saw that the "silver" micro glitter is actually gorgeous holo that flashes green, blue and purple.  It is the perfect combination with the Ulta Smoke Screen.  This manicure almost looks like those starry night manis that have tons of steps and colors.

I will definitely try White Polka Dot over different colors.  I really love it and now I want a bunch more Nubars!
